Ivone is a bilingual and bicultural Latinx therapist with over 13 years of experience supporting BIPOC clients overcome stress and anxiety, low self-esteem, imposter syndrome, and childhood trauma. Ivone is a Certified EMDR therapist who has been providing EMDR therapy for 9 years.

Services are rooted in anti-racist and anti-oppressive frameworks and specialized to serve the BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) community in Illinois. Mindfully Serene Psychotherapy LLC is an LGBTQIA+ affirming and neurodivergent affirming practice.

Welcome — I’m so glad you’re here.

Life doesn’t have to feel this overwhelming. You don’t have to keep suffering in silence. Strong and resilient people also need support. Seeking therapy is a courageous first step toward feeling better. 

Maybe you’ve been struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem, insecurities and self-doubt. Despite your achievements and strengths, you can’t tune out the voice that says you're doing it all wrong and you’re not good enough. You’ve been juggling the many demands of work, family, and relationships but it’s getting harder to do it all.

You’re struggling with setting boundaries and when you finally find the words to express what you need, you’re overcome with guilt and anxiety. Everyone believes you have it all together, but inside you feel depleted. You always put others first and have become your own worst critic.

One thing is for sure, you're exhausted and are ready to make changes.

You are not alone and you don’t have to do this on your own. Through therapy, my clients have healed from past trauma, learned how to cope with stress, set healthier boundaries, and developed deeper, more fulfilling relationships. They’ve built confidence, let go of shame, and started living with more peace and joy.

I know that starting therapy can be anxiety provoking, but it could also be one of the best things you’ve ever done for yourself.

My approach is rooted in EMDR therapy and other evidence-based techniques to help you process past experiences, calm your nervous system, and move forward with more clarity and self-compassion. I strive to create a safe and therapeutic space for all. Know that you can work at your own pace. You get to decide what you want to talk about AND also what you’re not ready to talk about.

You can count on me to be warm, authentic, and compassionate. I will listen to you and support you as you figure out your path. I will teach you skills to help you cope. I will encourage your growth and challenge you when you try to self-sabotage. My only goal is that you leave therapy feeling more at peace.
